Make some noise! It’s time for the new ETT! It’s important to note this one gets a little scientific and there were a lot of key elements needed to finish this board. And although we are very happy with the finished board, we have no idea how it will ride. Watch as New Zealand Signal rider Hamish Martin blows us away and steps it up and sets the tone at Snowboarder Magazine’s SuperPark 16. www.signalsnowboards.com

One Week After Surgery
So I had my ACL surgery just under a week ago and I’m pretty happy to say that everything went really well! I go back for my return visit tomorrow so they can check and see that everything is to healing up just right, and then I should be starting back with physical therapy pretty soon… ha! I’m actually looking forward to that cause its been a pain just getting around without being able to walk. But until then, I have this weird motion machine that the surgeon’s office gave me to use to help bring back some of the mobility in my knee. I think its been working, buuut its a little weird haha so hopefully I’ll be back walking pretty soon!
Until then, keep checking back to my blog for new stuff each week!

Weird workout #1
So I started Physical therapy a couple weeks ago and the 1st two visits were pretty normal; stretching, a few simple workouts, icing, and then the freaky nerve zapping thing even though thats kinda weird too.. But last week they had me do this “crab walk” thing with an elastic band tied between my feet! Haha as weird as it looks, its actually a REALLY intense workout…

I’m working on figuring out exactley how to embed videos in these posts, so for now just do the good ole’ Copy and Paste method!

Here it is, my first post after I tore the ACL tendon in my right knee!
To start off, for those of you reading this that dont know what your ACL is, its one of the major tendons behind your knee cap that helps keep it strong and flexible. If you do happen to tear your ACL, you’re more than likely gonna be in a lot of pain, you won’t be able to do a whole lot of strenuous activities, and you’ll either have to have surgery or do a lot of physical therapy to get your knee strong again. Needless to say, its no fun at all… For those of us that are commited athletes, it can sometimes be a pretty big setback, but if you’re strong enough to come back from it, then you’ll have just another story of overcoming a challenge set in front of you. So tomorrow evening will begin the writing of my story on everything I do during my “road to recovery”. Keep a trained eye on this page for the next few months, cause I’ll be back on the water before you know it!

AWAKE left coast Interview
Our very own C.O.O. & Design Director Ray get’s some love on AWAKLeftcoast.com…If you haven’t heard about AWLC then you better get on it…awakeleftcoast.com We’re planning on doing some exclusive promotion via Awake’s website, so check them out everyday, you never know when a exclusive Phalanx item will pop up!
AWAKE exists to bring together the west half of the country’s wakeboarders/wakeskaters. Designed not to compete with any other media outlet, but to represent the riding, events, news, and culture of the left half or so of the continent.
Orlando Rider Ian Smith Joins Phalanx

Wakeboarder Ian Smith Joins Phalanx for Breakout 2012 Campaign.
PHALANX Wake and young gun Ian Smith have teamed up to start off a massive 2012 campaign. With several major events on the agenda, Smith is set to make his mark on the wakeboard industry.
The PHALANX crew could not be happier with the addition of Ian Smith. Team captain Ricky G recognizes how unique riders like Smith are:
“There are few who understand what it takes to survive in the industry and understand the big picture and are willing to go out, work hard, and take over. Ian has the drive to succeed and has his sponsors, friends, and family backing him. From the rails to cable to behind the boat, Ian is a triple threat and is ready to conquer this year and make things happen”
Ray Cruz, Operations Manager, is equally stoked about Ian Smith:
“I’m stoked to be able to add to the crew a guy like Ian. He’s got talent, skills, tons of energy and passion for wakeboarding. I can’t wait to see what Ian does as a PHALANX rider, a product developer, as well as our Florida sales rep!”
During a recent interview we asked Ian what his favorite thing about being a part of the PHALANX Wake crew.
He responded, “I think its always great to be at the start of something big, so that over the years you can see how much work is put into it and where it all goes. So just being able to be a rider and getting to see the company grow will be awesome!”
Riders like Ian Smith are few and far between so we would like to officially welcome Ian to the PHALANX Crew. Stay tuned and look for Ian Smith on the podium!

Worth the wait!
It’s a real exciting time here, Integrity started feeding us some prototypes and pre-production samples and they look F’n great! I know it’s taken a lot longer then anticipated to get them, but it’s worth the wait. If any of you made it out to surf expo last month then you saw what I’m talking about. the details and thought that Erich puts into my designs definitely recharged my batteries! If you look as the pic of our Clear graphic CW-425, you can see how technical the boards are. It was so awesome to see the addition of urethane heel shock pads to the cores. This was an idea I had last year and bam! Erich threw it in there. We’ve ridden the boards and it’s this little extra details that make the boards sooo good! There’s still quite a bit of work to do to get boards into production, but we are feverishly working on them, it’s going to be a very busy winter!
Other good news is we are preparing for hitting the market come spring. We just moved into our new bigger warehouse/office. We remained in the same building but took over the largest suite. We’ll have plenty of room now for the arrival of the board inventory as well as we added bigger and better screen printing equipment. The best thing is we’ve added more office space 4x the size! No more stumbling over each others crap. We even have rooms dedicated to the wide format printer and vinyl cutter and dedicated space to permanently set up the photo studio!
Overall the stoke is super high here, we are preparing to make our mark come spring with some real innovative, great riding quality boards. We appreciate your patience and understanding for following our start up. it’s been mostly a rough time but passion leads to perseverance! Perseverance can only lead to success.
